DO YOU WANT WEIGHT LOSS AND INTUITIVE EATING
I am talking about wanting weight loss and intuitive eating, i know like i said it is elephant in the room and today we are going to address it what happens when you want both of those things is possible can it work let's talk about it.
CAN YOU WANT WEIGHT LOSS AND IE?
Now i just want to say first of all that wanting to lose weight is not bad, it's we have been conditioned to want to lose weight diet culture has told us that if we lose weight we will be more successful we will be better-looking we will be more likeable we will be just amazing right life is better if you lose weight. That's what diet culture has told us to believe but guys that is just not true.
It's a marketing ploy i know it sounds hard to hear it's a marketing ploy, i believe that same thing too so like i said i don't think that it's bad, to want to lose weight it's to be honest natural because that's what society tells us we should do right so i never want anyone to feel guilty or ashamed that they want to lose weight, what we want to do is we want to dig deeper with that.
So i was in the same boat for six years i tried to shrink my body as much as i could and lose weight thought once i lose weight i would you know have just better life overall and let me tell you i lost a lot of weight and my life did not get better because of that weight Loss My Life Got Frustrating, i Got Obsessed With Food I Was A Social Outcast Because I Couldn't Do Anything.
Because i was living with all of my food rules i was basically just sitting at home each night i wasted my entire college years, i look back on that and it breaks my heart so i want to help you guys not do the mistakes that i did, i want you to start living with no food rules faster so let's get back to the point of what if you want weight loss and intuitive eating so like i said.
It's normal to want to lose weight but what we need to do is we need, to flip that want for weight loss and flip it to i want to feel good and i want to physically feel good and mentally in my body that is what you need to focus on not the weight loss, i truly believe that intentionally losing weight is not going to be sustainable it is not going to be helpful in the long run, it's going to cause you a lot of frustration but weight loss happen with intuitive eating.
So i believe in we all have this happy weight, this weight that our body feels best i am talking physically feels best at and mentally feels best at so what we need to do throughout the process of learning to live with no food rules is you find, that happy weight and at that way you will feel your best like i said mentally and physically now three things can happen in order for you to find that happy weight you could you lose weight.
Totally possible may be you are above your happy, weight right now you could gain weight may be you are below your happy way and you need to gain some you could maintain weight all three of those have happened, i have had clients who have gone through, all three of those so let's talk about kind of some scenarios.
Well what's gonna happen for me so if you are caught in the diving cycle you constantly restrict in over eight or binge, you might be above your heavy weight so weight loss could happen and, that's not bad you might be coming from a history of really restricting food like i was so you might need to gain some weight in order to be at your happy weight to actually feel your best feel nourished have energy or maybe you are already at your heavy weight and it's just a shift of the way.
You are thinking about things it's a shift of the way you're eating you know all of those things can happen and none of them are bad. So let's get back to the question you want intuitive eating and do you want weight loss can they go together so like i said it can't happen but it's only going to happen sustainably in a way you mentally and physically feel good if you shift away from wanting the weight loss itself to wanting to feel good mentally and physically in your body.
